Katz, Sapper & Miller and inGauge Work Together to Promote Benchmarking

The relevance of performance benchmarking in any industry is strongly correlated to the size and diversity of the reporting population. Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM) has been conducting an annual trucking industry benchmarking survey in conjunction with McLeod Software since 2014. The scope of this survey has grown consistently since its introduction, with the most recent study covering more than 200 data elements obtained from survey questionnaires and McLeod’s LoadMaster Enterprise software.

Since 2002, the Truckload Carriers Association’s (TCA) Best Practice Groups have been the market leader in quantitative and qualitative benchmarking within the trucking industry. TCA’s industry leadership for the future was reinforced with the introduction of inGauge in 2015. inGauge is the first dedicated online performance benchmarking platform in the North American Trucking Industry. Since its introduction, motor carriers of all sizes have implemented this innovative tool into their internal decision making and tactical planning processes.

To leverage the combined strengths of both initiatives mentioned above, KSM and inGauge are offering an exclusive opportunity for those companies participating in the fourth annual KSM/McLeod survey, and also those who will be attending KSM’s upcoming Trucking Owners Business Roundtable on February 7, 2017 in Indianapolis, IN. Beginning February 15, participants will be provided with complimentary limited access to inGauge for 90 days. This includes both external benchmarking (anonymous) features, as well as internal (historical) benchmarking and forecasting features.

“The mission of this promotion is to test our hypothesis that participation and engagement in benchmarking will increase with the combination of the credible data provided by the KSM/McLeod survey and inGauge’s online platform designed to push this valuable data to the frontlines, where positive action can occur,” states Tim Almack, partner-in-charge of KSM’s Transportation Services Group.

Access will include metrics used in the KSM/McLeod survey, along with a selection of other inGauge-specific criteria available in this platform. To opt-in to this offer, simply e-mail Stephanie McConnell at [email protected]. If you have already submitted your information to participate in the fourth annual KSM/McLeod survey, it will be automatically uploaded to the inGauge platform and you will receive your single user credentials, along with tutorials to help you begin your benchmarking journey.

“KSM and McLeod have done a great job promoting the benefits of benchmarking. Further, our product and customers have already benefited from the expertise of these fine organizations to build stronger trucking enterprises. inGauge will deliver more real-time collection of financial and operational data, and multiple tools for companies to consume and act on this valuable information,” says Chris Henry, inGauge Program Manager.

If you have not yet signed up to participate in the benchmarking survey but would like to be included, please register here. The first 100 participants will be invited to attend a special two-day networking and peer-to-peer best practices conference May 2017 in Indianapolis, IN. All submissions are due by Jan. 31, 2017.
